Muhammed Haron is Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Botswana. He is also an Associate Researcher at the University of Stellenbosch, and a member of the Advisory Board for the International Islamic University of Malaysia’s (ISTAC). In the past, he offered ‘Religion & International Relations’ at Rhodes University (2018) and Quranic Studies at US (2008). He previously taught ‘Islam in Africa’ at the National University of Malaysia (1993/1994). He edits University of Cape Town’s Annual Review of Islam in Africa and is Editor-in-Chief of Duke University’s Research Africa Reviews. In 2018, he edited Bechuanaland’s Muslim Pioneers: Their Journey and Legacies (Gaborone: BMA) and authored Connecting South-South Communities: Narrating the Tales of South Africa-Malaysia Relations (Newcastle-upon-Tyne: CPP).
